Faux Spring Thing

"It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"  ~Mark Twain

A man after my own color-seeking, bloom-desirous heart!  So...maybe I should have waited until April to move back to the Midwest...?   But it's getting closer to Spring everyday, and right now the rain outside my window (instead of the more recent gelid mediums) are evidence that a warming trend is certainly upon us.  I decided to celebrate Spring in its closeness but photographing some of the Faux Spring Things surrounding me today....promising real Spring Things very soon.  Hope you enjoy!

A series of lively, cheery flea market finds.

 Oh, how I love Orchids....

...and these flowers too, whose name I don't know.

I do believe in you Spring, I do!

Another recent flea market treasure! An old Artstyle Chocolate box, now filled with colored pencils (not quite as appetizing...)

A green button...how perfect!

Parton Family Affair

A few months back, I was able to spend a sunny, beautiful, windy (!) few hours with the Parton Family.  4 sweet and lovely girls, what a delight.

ART PEACE SUSTAINABILITY: A Global Digital Art (Therapy) Event

I thought I would post this video from the Art Therapy Alliance (ATT). ATT is in the business of promoting international art (therapy), peace, and sustainability. Their most recent project is requesting online art to be created from anyone with the desire to tell their story, their passion, their hopes, their dreams. Check out some of the work that's been created and submitted so far, and, if you feel so inspired--create some of your own!

Fallin' Fi-Ya

I felt the press of time to get out and take some mental and digital pictures of the saturated, beautiful leaves before all the "fire" fell. The bright and vibrant colors will be gone soon, as winter is just around the corner. I took Autts with me on this adventure walk, along with my camera...and some warm clothes.  The colors and the drizzling rain were easy to embrace and appreciate.

From the Big D to a little smaller D

From Dallas, TX to Des Moines, IA. New name, new city! Sarah J Photography is now Blu J Photography and Design. Check back often for updates. Also, I hope to finish with the website soon!

Here is the last photo shoot in Texas, along with the first shoot in Iowa. It was an honor to spend time in Austin (man I love that city!) with Melissa and Juan taking their engagement pictures.  What a fun, kind, flexible, and creative couple!  I was also honored to be able to take my niece's 6-month pictures. Claire Bella, the most beautiful "dancing girl."
